Android users can download the official APK directly - no app store needed. Install and open it, and you are ready to register. This is the most straightforward path with no extra barriers.

iOS users should note that Binance has been removed from the mainland China App Store, so searching with a mainland account will find nothing. A common mistake: many people switch to a US-region Apple ID and find "Binance.US" - that is a completely separate platform that is NOT compatible with the global Binance account. Your global account credentials won't work there, and the coins and fee structure are different. It is a wasted effort.

The correct way is to switch to a Taiwan-region or Hong Kong-region Apple ID. Both have Traditional Chinese interfaces, require no local phone number or bank card - just choose "None" as payment method and enter any local address. The Hong Kong region is even more convenient: no passport or Mainland Travel Permit needed.

Once downloaded, the registration process itself is standard: choose email or phone number, set a password, enter the verification code. Two small details usually cause trouble.

First, password strength. A simple everyday password will likely be rejected. Prepare one with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols in advance to save yourself back-and-forth.

Second, region selection (mainland users select China). The region you choose at registration determines which ID types are accepted for KYC later. Choosing wrong means restarting the whole process, so take a minute to confirm before filling in your details.

You must use your own real ID card. The verification process involves taking a photo of your ID plus facial recognition. It looks simple, but many people fail - usually not because the documents are wrong, but because of poor photo quality. Photos taken under night lighting are prone to glare, and the ID corners often get cropped, causing the system to judge the image as unclear.

Take the photo near a window in even daylight with the full ID in frame - the pass rate improves significantly. For facial recognition, keep the lighting sufficient and hold the phone steady; it will pass on the first try.

After your account is verified, many people immediately start trading. But it is strongly recommended to spend a few minutes on two things first.

First, two-factor authentication (2FA) - prefer an authenticator app generating dynamic codes over SMS-only codes. When enabling it you will receive a backup key; write it down on paper and keep it safe rather than saving only a screenshot.

Second, withdrawal address whitelist. Once enabled, assets can only be withdrawn to pre-approved addresses - even if someone logs into your account, they cannot move your funds out.

If everything goes smoothly, Android users can go from downloading the APK to trading in about ten minutes. iOS users need a bit more time due to the Apple ID region switch, but it is not complicated. The real time sink is usually re-taking photos after a failed verification - knowing the photo requirements in advance avoids this pitfall.
